It was two copywriting clients I had back in 2019 where I first started to see it: thoughts, stories, ideas and feelings about owning their story, their experience, their expertise and their (very impressive) resumes were getting in the way of them being able to express their impact…and thus interrupted how well I could write THEIR about pages.

When I panned back, the same hiccup was getting in the way of their decision making. Their ability to delegate tasks. Their ability to communicate well. It was everywhere.

Those clients didn’t know it at the time, but they were the spark for a career transition that would bring me to today - where I help driven professionals and high performers stay steady under pressure, and navigate any change or challenge being thrown at them with calm, clear confidence.

The best part about growing into this work, and evolving from copywriter to coach? It’s evolved me, too. Certifying in a body of Emotional Intelligence work opened my eyes to the ways my own emotional climate would (and still can!) get the best of me; where something would trigger a big feeling that would spark actions totally divergent from who I wanted to be, and the life I wanted to have.

Seeing their impact everywhere, it totally shifted the way I understood myself, and started to understand people around me; how I was able to practice empathy more honestly, how I could see where my own stories got/get in the way of the kind of friend, community member, and even family member I wanted/want to be.

Sure it’s a cliché: that my biggest breakthrough is where I’m helping people now. And, after living like a shaken champagne bottle for years, trying to make decisions from a triggered state, to slowly shuffling towards more authentic self-expression and more aligned decision making, I can confidently say the work is worth it. That the steadyness, the sense of integrity, the calm, quiet confidence I can feel in all my cells….yeah, that’s worth the work.

And it’s my every desire for the folks I’m privileged enough to work with to feel too.

What guides my work

  • Kindness

Being nice is easy. Being kind - not always. Nice smooths things over. Kindness can shake things up - and does it thoughtfully - because real care isn’t always comfortable. Kindness can speak a hard truth with care - which is where it becomes a super power of expanding potential.

  • Humanness

Look, we’re all just walking around in these weird meat suits, doing our best with what we have. We’ve all got our strengths and weaknesses, ways we’re wonderful and ways we’re weird. We’re united in our humanity - so know yours is welcome here. And yes, I’ll absolutely show you mine.

  • Curiosity

The access point to empathy, curiosity is what draws us into connection with ourselves and with others. SO much is possible when we set aside judgements and replace them with true inquiry.

  • Authenticity

This is more me, more often brought to life. ME meaning the YOU at the heart of who you are. Your most honest, natural expression. Your truths, your depth, your desires, your wants and needs and preferences. It’s THIS version we’re out to excavate, then express.
